Tee shirts are one of the most common types of garments among women and men of all cultures and parts of the world. They are available in different styles, fit, designs and sizes to cater different needs and fashion trends. Apart from tight fitted t-shirts, baggy t-shirts, V-neck t-shirts, Y-neck t-shirts and others, the most formal and fashionable type of t-shirt is the tuxedo t-shirt. These vintage tee shirts are more formal and presentable than any other type of t-shirts. You must have a few or many in your wardrobe, or your must have worn many or few to various occasions, or if nothing else at least you must have seen people wearing these shirts. However, it is interesting that no matter how common something is, we still do not bother to learn about its history and origin, thus I have made some efforts to learn how these t-shirts came into being. It is difficult to exactly mark the point from where these shirts originated but it is thought by most of the archaeologists that these shirts resemble slim fit t shirtsthe undergarment that soldiers of Rome, German and French wore before and during the First World War. However, it would be sensible to say that the fashion reached its peak in America after its idea was taken from the British Navy in the last decades of 1800s. First time, the word t-shirt was ever used or appeared in literature was when F. Scott Fitzgerald used it in his novel ‘This side of paradise’ in 1920. At the end of the decade, the word was added to the American Webster’s Dictionary.

Ever since then, the tee shirt trend became popular and common among the men and women of all ages and positions. An important role in making them more chic and trendy has been played by the pop musicians and singers of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s era.

As far as the tuxedo tee shirts are concerned, they came into existence about 50 years ago and has never been out of fashion ever since. You can even find a number of variations of the tuxedo shirts such as classic, famous, rhinestone, for ladies, for babies and in different colors and fit.
